Wildlife
With its characteristic aquatic flora and fauna bringing living natural history to the inner city, Kingsland Basin could not be a more appealing place to live and work.
Compared with the rest of the canal, the basin is relatively undisturbed, with a variety of marginal, emergent and submerged vegetation.
In the skies, on the water and around the banks of the basin, Mute Swans, Canada Geese, Mallards, Coots and Moorhen are regularly observed and if you're lucky enough you might even spot a Cormorant or Blue-tailed Damselfly.
